I live here & I'm trying to get out of this redneck dungeon! We often see a naked kid by our business playing in the kiddie pool in their front lawn. There is a man who lives in his van at McDonald's. Every vehicle on the road is an old beat down Chevy or Ford. There are crazy people throwing rocks at people's cars, dancing with a boombox in the middle of the street, and running naked in the downtown areas. Where I live is one of the NICER areas in Mississippi! I am not joking about any of this.

I live here, and it is awful! There is absolutely nothing to do. Most people are complete ignorant inbreds, and country music is atrocious! Most of the people are also bible thumpers. There are at least 10 guns in every house. The schools are pitiful as well, and so are most of the people that attend them. Sports are the only thing accepted here as far as extracurricular activities go. The biggest pastime is hunting, and most people are dirt poor. There is a ton of obese people!

I'm just living here because I'm with the Navy, otherwise I would have never come here. This place has absolutely nothing going for it. The locals seem friendly at first but judge you for your accent or just for being from somewhere else. I'm from Mississippi and most of these comments really offend me! Yes, there isn't much to do, but does that mean we are a "horrible state"? Living in Mississippi is horrible. There's nothing fun to do, yet everyone who lives here always talks about how they love to enjoy the "attractions" in Mississippi.
