I was born and raised in New Jersey. I have since relocated to Texas for work. To be honest, NJ isn't a terrible place. A law in Jersey doesn't allow people to pump their own gas - only station attendants pump gas. The state animal is the HORSE. The Jersey Shore is beautiful, summer and winter (live there a few years instead of going there on weekends - big difference). Parts of Jersey are beautiful, parts are not. Jersey milk is some of best in the US - California and New Mexico are the others. Drinking water in Jersey is top quality - and safe. NO state today is as good as it was 30 years ago, not even the US.

NEW JERSEY IS AWESOME! I lived here my whole life and there was never even 1 single thing wrong about it! It shouldn't be here! Although, every state has a bad thing about it. Like Minnesota has really bad water, New York is so busy that there houses are small and that they have many criminals and homeless people, California also has many homeless people, and Texas is too hot! Though, every single state has a very special thing in it! I am AGAINST this whole topic!

Why the hell is NJ on here? I'm only 13 and I've lived in New Jersey my whole life! Some of the greatest music of all time such as Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons, Bruce Springsteen, Whitney Houston, came from this state. The Statue of Liberty is in New Jersey, Ellis Island, etc. Heck even MetLife Stadium, where the Giants and Jets play is located in North Jersey. Immigrants from hundreds of years ago migrated here along with Delaware. And we wouldn't have some of the Greatest movies such as

I'm not even from America. I'm from Ireland but the general opinion over here, which is mostly influenced by the Jersey shore, is that it's a dump. Before people start saying anything though, I have actually been to New Jersey though and did not think highly of it compared to New York. The thing that annoyed me most though was I asked people and they didn't even know where the original Jersey was. Its called New Jersey for a reason not as the people there called it "joisy"

Oh my goodness this place rocks! Sure Trenton might not be that good but there are really nice towns and lots of things to do, and you're close to NYC. Whats not to love?

New Jersey gets a bad rep. Whenever I go somewhere and I say I'm from New Jersey people look disgusted. I've had people say they feel bad for me. Sure we have bad places, but doesn't every state? People in these comments have said we are arrogent, rude and cocky. Yes we have people who are, but the majority are friendly, we just get rude when people talk trash about us.

The most useless state has to be Alabama, in my opinion

Leave the stereotypes, the Jersey Shore show (that people from NJ hate more than anyone), and the general conclusion that it's full of trashy towns.. It's not true. The large majority of Jersey shore points are clean and well kept. Most people who own shore homes in New Jersey, don't have the accent because they are from Pennsylvania or New York. The rest however, is a dump.
