Iron man is just an awesome character. he's not perfect and often clashes with others but heroes aren't supposed to be perfect. he has coolest tech, even without it he's still able to hold his own using his intelligence and the small amount of training he's had from other heroes. people who only watch the movie think he's nothing without the suit which is definitely not the case.
