2 well trained Jedi battle it out with sabers, not a lot of force abilities happening (there is that 1 force push moment) which is a shame. A mixture of the 2 is always the best I think. Revenge of the Sith is definitely home to the best saber duels, fast-paced, and well performed. Unlike sequel fights where in episode 7 it was as if they were fighting with great-swords, slow paced, as if there was a lot of weight to the weapon.

The top Star Wars movie of all 6, it makes sense that it also has the best duel. A compelling story that began in episode 1 builds up to the ultimate mystery of how Anakin became encased in Darth Vader. An intense, heated, emotional duel between Anakin and his former master/best friend is the best way it could've happened. This duel is the main thing that makes Episode 3 the most emotional Star Wars film, ending in sadness and disparity as the Empire rises and the evil Palpatine's plan succeeds. Vader's life supporting armor made him feared by the galaxy for years to come, thanks to his awesome, but sad duel against Obi-Wan.

One the most incredible duals in Star Wars and cinema history saving the complete mess of the prequels. The dialogue once again is not the best, however Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen completely make up for with incredible displays of acting getting though all the emotion involved in the dual. The set up is absolutely epic, lava and big massive tall structures make it a great spectical and is a fitting way to finally see Anakin turn the dark side. It is also the most emotionally driven fight between Anakin and his master, McGregor really showing us how hard it was for Obi Wan to try to kill Skywalker, the look on his face at the end haunts me every time a see it, it's truly chilling. And of cause who can forget Mr Kenobi telling Anakin he failed him, before his (once again) chilling 'speech' at the end, Him shouting 'You were the chosen one, you were meant to destroy the sith not join them! ' (Of course later he does destroy the sith). And Anakin screaming 'I HATE YOU! ' ... more

The most emotional duel in star wars history. what's worse is you're always rooting for Anakin but you know his ultimate demise. They need to redo Episodes 4,5, and 6. It'll be tough because those were literally THE best star wars movies ever and have so many die hard fans, but I think that because of the time frame difference between 4-6 and 1-3 it looks like the technology went backwards rather than forwards and Vaders suit was too 80's looking with the big red buttons on his chest. off topic I know but I would like to see Vader brought up to more present times

This is the most awesome and dramatic battle in the saga you can see Obi Wan's sorrow in fighting his beloved pupil and their relationship being destroyed as Anakin descends into madness over saving Padme and attacks Obi-Wan viciously and all the things Obi-Wan taught him is used against Obi-Wan! Plus, it's really epic with them dueling on the mining platform and Anakin saying "I HATE YOU! " as he is burned to a crisp. The feels man!

Obi Wan and Anakin's duel was the longest, aggressive, and dramatic scene in Star Wars. This battle had a big meaning to it because it set the tone for the original trilogy. I think that this battle is the best because it really showed how much obi wan cared for anakin and how big of a mistake that Anakin had made becoming a Sith Lord.

I have no clue why this is number 1. The lightsaber duels in the prequels did, while cool and flashy, nothing to the story. In the Force Awakens the duel between Rey and Kylo actually adds to the story as well as the duels from the originals add to the story. Yes they are slower but why do you need to have all super choreographed lightsaber duels.

The absolute best. You've got Obi wan Kenobi blocking like seventy thousand strikes from Anakin, all the while lava is everywhere and the platforms are crumbling. I love how obi wan totally beat Anakin in One swing. The most epic part of a movie in star war's trilogy most likely for 100 movies.
