Ok, I could actually see this as being quite a bad year in America. I signaled increased violence both in Vietnam and in politics, and this honestly, was the biggest crisis year since the Civil War, in my opinion. There was massive polarization in politics, as the war, civil rights, and a deteriorating economy caused many problems.The reason this was the biggest crisis since the Civil War, was because the wars that came during the end of the 19th and first half of the 20th century never threatened the actual unity of America (Even WW2, as the Japanese war goals specifically aimed for only our pacific holdings, at most we'd have lost those territories and Hawaii, but even that is doubtful). And the great depression, while horrible, did not seem to have any possibility to break up the country.Most of the other years on this list are joke answers or hyperventilating about problems that just aren't that big, or are WAAAY to recent to even make a full judgment of.
