I have a Leopard gecko and he is so cute. I love how they stalk their tails when they eat! Very friendly, great pet for kids. Cats should be #1 and lizards #2.

I can't believe these pets are so low on the list! They make amazing pets assuming you know what you're doing and are great lizards for children (as long as the child isn't the only caretaker)
