Guinea pigs, were and are my first pets, and I couldnt have made a better choice. For a child it is easy to take care of, they need to be included but st the same time they can be left alone if they have some food and water and a place to hide. I love both of mine and miss my third that passed recently. They also live for quite a long time and are extremely cute and love to be petted and scratched behind the ears just like a mini dog

I've had Guinea pigs my whole life! Each one has had its own personality but all have been truly loving and beautiful animals!My boy at the minute is a rescue Guinea pig but this hasn't put a dent on how brave and adventurous he was as a youngster or how loving and cuddly he is now he's an old man!He's never bitten and is truly one of the family as all of our Guinea pigs have been!Once you've he one you'll never look back!

I'm 13 and have two male guinea pigs. My 7 year old brother also loves them and they can cuddle and snuggle for and extended period of time! If you are thinking of getting any, get two or more. They need company or they can get depressed. They should be before hamsters on this list because unlike hamsters, once they trust you, they grow feelings for you and can truly be your little friends!

I own three Guinea pigs. They are my favorite animal of all! (And that's saying A LOT considering I have so many different kinds of animals). They are adorable, sweet, easy to care for, they almost never bite, they are trainable, and there so interesting. They make adorable noises an are an overall AMAZING pet. The bonds they form Are priceless.

Guinea pigs should be much higher on this list! They are sweet and kind and often misjudged. I think Guinea pigs should be higher! Guinea are amazing pets, as they are sweet and loving and really, totally better than hamsters! Guinea pigs are very playful and are like that to everyone, even if they are a little nervous at first. They are adorable and I spend every second holding mine. In my opinion they should be #4 at the least.

Guinea pigs are the best pets ever, but they don't live extremely long. They don't need much space, you can keep them outdoors and indoors, but I would really recommend keeping more than one since they're very social animals. They are good to have if you've got children. I am never going to like any animal more than guinea pigs.

Great pets! I grew up with Guinea Pigs they are the best, although one of them nipped my finger sometimes, I really loved the experience, but apparently some people think they smell and sometimes they can be costly but I loved them and I'd recommend them to anyone with the time and space
