Birds also need a lot of care, never go out and get one before you do your research. Birds need a large cage with lots of toys and perches, a diet that consists of pellets, limited seed and fresh veggies/fruit, and at least an hour out of the cage for small parrots and several hours for large parrots. Don't clip their wings, let them fly around the house (supervised). They need a lot of time and can be noisy and messy. But they also form deep bonds with their owners and are very affectionate and friendly if given enough attention. You can train them to do many tricks, such as talking, target training, flight recall, wave, big eagle, play dead and more.

I have a yellow sided conure (male) named Cookie! He is the sweetest thing, he's sooo funny! He dances and always wants to be the center of attention, when a had a female green cheek named Kiwi, he would try to look big when someone walked by, by puffing his chest feathers. He is very playful, and NEVER bites! We had to give Kiwi away though because they were starting to get really aggressive. Cookie doesn't bite anymore though, and, if you wanted to get a bird, get a yellow-sided conure, or any time of parrot! They are VERY playful, and talk, so cute))! Don't get a canarie or stuff like that because they are dumb, and bite, they are pretty much decor! Also if you wanted a Love Bird, they bite a lot at first but otherwise playful! OVERALL GET EITHER A PARROT OR LOVE BIRD! THE BEST PARROTS ARE THE COKATUE (probably misspelled) CONURE WHICH IS NOT THAT BIG AND NOISY OR AfricaN GREY, PS MY BIRD GREETS ME

I love parrots! they're so lovable and cuddly. They can be just as lovable as a puppy. My parrot, who I rescued, loved me more than anything and would give me kisses all day. Grow a great bond with you parrot and he would never bite you. Make sure that you spend a lot of time with your parrot, they're very needy. They also live for a long time, so if you plan on getting one, make sure you can care for it for a lifetime. They're definitely worth it though, they will love you like family. - rob5

Birds must be #1. Why can't dogs go over 100%. One reason, the semmingly meanest animal sounds on the planet, the bark (its not the roar anymore). A bird poop is easier to clean and birds can calm your neighbors down. Like that rabbit post said, dog barks can either wake you up at sleep (and that happening on Christmas night is bad luck), destroy the sound of T.V. shows or music (don't get a dog if your not a fan of pausing T.V. shows to listen to it) and lastly, barking makes neighbors deadlier and more disapointed. Birds have neither of those things happening. So everyone, get birds!

Budgies aren't loud! Unless you left the poor thing trapped in a cage forever, if kept indoors, please let your birdy fly around the room and explore, if not, get an aviary. Otherwise they will be loud. Also they are the duracels of pets, they go on and on and on whistling and chirping, but for me, that's a pro. At one point I had 25+ budgies in my aviary and they're just so low maintenance and such lovely pets

I have a cockatiel called Charlie. He sits on my shoulder and we sing together (believe me his noise is better than mine). He actually dances by bobbing his head, spreading his wings and walking up and down whilst making the most ear-splitting noise whenever he hears: Howlin' Wolf, AC/DC, Randy Crawford, Barry White and George Ezra.
