The name says it all with the exception 01 to 06 when pacific cycles bought the Gt company, since they had made poor management choices that put Gt cycles in debt. But later on pacific cycles were bought out as well, and most think because the holding firm made this transaction only for the sole purpose of only keeping and reinventing Gt bicycle name and started the ball in the right direction with incredible craftsmanship placed into mountain bikes and trials bikes and then BmX as well as freestyle. Maybe I'm stupid for placeing them number one, but since I was young the name has never done me wrong so for that they will have my lifetime support. - Screw32

Each frame look beautiful, switches between gears seemlessly, is perfect for just enjoying some wonderful trails, and has a version for everyone. they are true mountain bikes with high quality statistics and I don't understand why anyone would prefer another brand. I worked at a bike shop and had to fix up to 30 bikes on the daily, most from crappy walmart brands and never once did I see a GT in for anything other than upgrades or a simple tube change. We also hosted trail rides and the moiuntain bikers I knew only had good things to say about this brand. If you know your bikes, you choose GT.

I have an 8 year old Avalanche 3.0 and its barely gone wrong, when it has it has been due to me neglecting it a bit. Everything bar the seat (for comfort reasons) is the same as it was when I bought it. The colour and decal design hasn't really dated much and the shape of the frame is the same as it is on the new bikes.Despite being made from aluminium I find it noticeably (but not much) heavier than my friends Giant bike of similar specification.Would happily recommend this brand to anyone

I have a 2006 Aggresor, it has done me well and it is a great bike. Despite using it to tackle full sus trails, it is still in great condition and normally runs smoothly.I am soon receiving a GT Avalanche (Hardtail) which I am hoping since it is a higher end model, which will perform even better than my trusty Aggresor does.If you were to buy an MTB with as good specs say from the likes of Specialized, you would have to pay almost twice the price. Great value for money.GT are a great bike make and I would recommend them to anyone who enjoys Mountain Biking.

GT bikes are the very best design handsdown,u can tell as soon as u ride one half the people on hear probably never even. Rode one. But when u do u will know that gt is the most stiffness in the frame design not the lightest but stiffist and great story behind the product but we ain't paying a couple hundred for a story us gt people kno the real truth gt is the best bike u can buy.i would like to see trek put out some frames like gt they have better looking dropouts and gts don't feel cluby like treks do just a better bike miles away from a trek or giant

I'm 6'3" / 295 lbs and have a 1996 GT LTS-3, original owner. As of 8/2014 I have only ever replaced the tires, brake pads, chain and sprockets. After 24,000+ miles the bike shows no signs of stopping. By comparison a used 1996 Trek 7000 SHX I picked up used started giving me problems within a month or 6 weeks of my purchase. Though I think the GT may hold up better than the Trek since it is not a ridgid rear and the elastomer suspension absorbs much of the abuse a guy my size puts on a bicycle simply because of my size.

As a budget mountainbiker I bought a secondhand Avalanche 1.0 three years ago. Best handling hardtail I've ever owned or ridden. I've upgraded componentry far beyond the original spec, including a 120mm fork which is not advised by the manufacturer. I'm the only guy riding my XC GT among a bunch of all mountain and downhill hooligans. Some of them have had some serious expences on seriously expensive bikes, but the old GT frame, together with some quality componentry seems to be bomb proof. And I pretty much keep up with most of them.

Had a GT Zaskar Urban Machine. That bike have seen a lot of roads and mountains in the past 6 years when I lived out in the French alps! I'm no good at looking after bikes but this one has never given upon me. Brought it over to uk few months ago and just got stolen 2 days ago. Absolutely gutted.. I rode an aggressor while my zaskar was still in France which was great too. Will get another GT unless this list and comments put something else in my mind

I have owned 3 GT mountain bikes since late 1993. The frames on each of these have been fantastic and have never let me down once. I've replaced and upgraded components as required and to my preference. I recently done a complete rebuild of my 2001 GT idrive which I just couldn't bear to part with. The fact that it's served me so well for so long is testament to the quality of this brand.

I have the GT Avalanche Comp 2014, this bike has higher spec equipment than similar bikes in the same price range. The bike handling is very crisp and sharp, if you want to kick out the rear and slide around you can with ease, due to the sporty/aggressive geometry including a slightly shorter chainstay length than most similar bikes. I have total confidence when riding it.
