When your teacher tells you not to use Wikipedia, trust them. The website has deceived me before. I had to do an independent novel study and choose out of a list of books. I looked up their plots and one seemed interesting to me, so I chose that book. After I read it, I realized it was nothing like Wikipedia told me! I had to choose another book the day before because the other book was so boring I wouldn't know what to even write an essay about. The only thing Wikipedia is good for is general info, DO NOT USE IT FOR SCHOOL!

Not always trustworthy. One time, I was looking up random bands, and on the Coldplay and Oasis articles, it said they were nominated for 34 and 3 Grammy Awards respectively. I looked at the official website for the Grammy Awards and it said that Coldplay was nominated 29 times and Oasis was nominated 2 times. I set up an account on Wikipedia in order to change it with the Grammy Awards website source. Of course, Wikipedia is always under fire from vandalism, so you really need to only believe the cited sources.

Please do not create, maintain or restore hoaxes on Wikipedia, (It wasnt a hoax) as you did at 2017. If you are interested in how accurate Wikipedia is, a more constructive test method would be to try to find inaccurate statements that are already in Wikipedia (which are everywhere and I won't cause you guys think Adolf Hitler was never born) 錕" and then to correct them if possible. Wikipedia is not the problem. Irresponsible kids (and sometimes teenagers + adults) edit it and add incorrect information because they don't care about what would happen if people believed their false claims. It would have been a great site, if only people were more considerate of others. You just need to be able to differentiate the correct information from the false ones.

All teachers discourage their students to use Wikipedia. The information is often unreliable. Anyone can change the information, so all articles dont have an author. Now there are strict guidelines such as providing sources. To be a professional, never use Wikipedia for research. Its filled with lies. If I were a teacher, I will give a zero on a paper or presentation if someone put Wikipedia on works cited page. Students, trust your teachers. You will fail a class if you rely on Wikipedia.

Not the most reliable source as any troll can edit the pages. When I was just learning about who Adam Gontier was, his page said his birthday was on May 21 and I even believed it at one point. I dont even know how they came up with that because his birthday is on May 25. - 3DG20
