Oh, I absolutely hate this month with flaming passion! It is always the time of the year (and mostly the days between May 12 and 18) where way, WAY more bad things happen to my family and friends circle than in any other month, including health problems (all the way up to long stays in hospital for family members), expensive repairs (may it be house or car), or even deaths of beloved persons. Speaking of deaths: since 2011, I had 5 deaths occurring in my direct family/friends circle, 4 of them taking place in this 7 day period mentioned before. My absolute hatred goes actually to May 11b (aka. May 12), where I lost 2 close family members in two consecutive years (one in 2019 and 2020 each), to top off the general most unlucky day in the year for me.To the stress in schools - I believe everything is said. May is my absolute WORST NIGHTMARE... especially in the middle of the month where at school I haven't even begun testing. When I am testing at school, at least I don't get that much homework. But just before testing, there is a time of the year called the "Final Stretch", where I am LOADED up with homework that would be seen as just ridiculous and cruel at any other time of the year. The worst part of it all is that the work itself has no educational value in itself, and usually teaches me nothing. May is a month for seemingly endless longing for the summer while dealing with the incredibly large workload, composed entirely of review packets and busywork. I wish we could just take our tests and get it over with, because in my opinion, testing is SUPER EASY compared to all of this pointless work. Personally, I think I could do better without the weeks of review that only make me more stressed about everything. This is the worst month for Middle/ High School Students and even teachers. Because the weather is getting nice people are sick of school work, students get sick and tired from each other because they have been together for so long now.
