Greatest album ever, period.I can't see a7x ever topping this, the death of the REv drove them to make some of the most unforgettable masterpieces.Musicianship is amazing, lyrics incredible and overall songwriting is perfect.Save Me IS there best song after MIA maybe, God HAtes Us is heavy and epic, Buried alive is a flawless track, and fiction and victim are just beautiful.Those are my favorites but honestly, all the songs kick so much ass.Also the bonus track "lost it all" is awesome.I have no idea why the self titled is number 1

As terrible as the Revs death was, it inspired a flawlesss album that proved a musical masterpiece from start to finish. The brutal and head banging songs such as Nightmare, Natural-Born Killer and God Hates Us have kick ass riffs while the longer songs such as Victim and Save Me are beautiful and intricate only getting better as they progress. There are then the emotion evoking Danger Line, So Far Away and Fiction as well as the middle ground -emotional remaining true to its metallic roots with strong chorus and solid riffs and structures- such as Welcome To The Family, Tonight The World Dies, and Buried Alive. It will always be a Top 3 for A7X.

Personally this is my favorite album of all times. Once this album grabs you it won't let go. It's filled with so much meaning and I just can't get enough. This was also my goto album in grade 5-7 when I just laying awake in the middle of the night. This album has the most sedimental songs for me. The album is just flawless, not to mention it was the Rev's last album, although that in itself doesn't make the album the best it just makes it sentimental, this was my favorite album long before I knew it was his last album. Overall I give it 10/10, if I could I would give it 20/10.

Nightmare is just an insanely awesome piece of work... The death of The Rev drove them to make an epic piece of music. Nightmare has a lot of fast pace song, and also some slow songs (for the Rev I think.) Take Nightmare for example, starts off slow but really takes it into gear once the song starts, Danger Line and Buried Alive also has that same vibe. Overall this has to be the best album yet, and the only one I think can compete with it is the band's namesake album, Avenged Sevenfold

AGREED! Completely, 100%, undisputed best album of all time. Should be at the top. Every song is great, I never hit skip on a Nightmare album song. I definitely find myself skipping songs on the self proclaimed album a lot. Songs like Unbound and Lost are great, don't get me wrong but the autotune T-Pain stuff gets annoying sometimes. And plus they're no match for the lesser songs on nightmare like Save Me or Natural Born Killer or god forbid Danger Line. There's literally not a single bad song on Nightmare. RIP Rev and Hail to A7X!

Many lesser known songs are incredible here...1. God Hate Us : The growl are very incredible... The bridge before the solo's and the groove it's incredible!2. Natural Born Killer : The intros and solo intros3. Danger Line : The end of songs lyric will touch your feel.. I think this song is sang by dead men...4. Save Me : 10 minutes song and all of instruments are hard to play and cost much energy...5. Fiction : For Un-true a7x fans, they won't know this song...

This is a very close one between Nightmare and the self-titled album. I chose Nightmare because, on top of having my favorite songs in it, it is more solid as it is full of under-played and under-rated songs on top of the big hits.Nightmare's big hits are: Nightmare, Welcome to the Family, Buried Alive, So Far AwayWhereas their self-titled has: Critical Acclaim, Almost Easy, Afterlife, A Little Piece of Heaven, Dear GodThis seems pretty even, maybe even favoring their self-titled; however, Nightmare contains some underdogs such as:Danger Line: insanely good vocals, catchy chorus, Synester shredding, very emotional endingGod Hates Us: great and light opening solo, very heavy song in general, great screaming from Shadows, catchy riffsVictim: good vocals, very catchy chorus, Synester shredding again, slower feel to itSave Me: Unique flow and feel to it, accompanied by powerful vocals and great guitar work.For this reason, I chose ... more

I can't choose between Nightmare and Avenged Sevenfold as their best album. They both feature what I would consider their best sound as a band. They were truly original in this period.Hail to the king sounds good too and so does their metalcore era sound, but It all sounds too similar to other artists to me.

Coming from a guy who's favorite A7X songs are Unholy Confessions and Second Heartbeat, this is my favorite album. The meaning behind it, the way it's put together, etc. Along with lesser known songs like God Hates Us being epic and brutal.
