I'm Catalan and I want the independence because we have been too much time under the rule of Spain, a wobbly "kingdom" that has abused Catalonia for too long. I speal Catalan, a language different and it's not Spanish. Spain has barely help Catalan language, they would like to erase our cherised language, and even though, we, the Catalans, have been waiting for our language for years. There are a lot of reasons, cruel and unfair reasons, and if you want to know they search the reasons. Moreover we are working for reach our independence, break out from Spain, and we know that it won't be easy, but like said Companys, a famous president of Catalonia who in his days declared the Republic of Catalonia, later removed by the dictator Franco, "We have the reason and the strenght", and I add "We have the economy and the will too". This autonomous region of Spain wants to gain full independence. It has its own language, it is home to Barcelona (a pretty great city, from what I've heard) and is quite close to gaining independence. It even has it's own language (Catalan). Catalonia independence for the win!

I am also Catalan and I don't wish a independence.The fact that some individuals generalizing their "desires" into a joint and common opinion is simply FALSE! There are more than 60% of the Catalans they don't support separatist and selfish ideas without any realistic reason.
