My dad took my mum to see the Hold Your Fire Live Tour at Wembley but again as expected my mum didn't appreciate it again, no surprise there. Unfortunately I couldn't have seen it anyway as it was in the mid-80s and I was but a twinkle in my mothers eyes.

Name a better first two songs on any Rush album than Force Ten and Time Stand Still. Alright, you could argue Permanent Waves and Moving Pictures, but those are both ranked top 5 and this is 26th? The person who got me into Rush has his favorite song on this album as well, Prime Mover, this is way too low of a ranking for Hold Your Fire. Now go listen to Time Stand Still and improve your day.

The album that got me into Rush. It does not have the urgency and directness of the harder 70's albums but the arrangements and songs themselves still thrill me to this day. I love it

This is a great album, in my opinion. Sure, it's not their best but all, except one song, are very good. Personally, the only weak song is Tai Shan. 7.5/10

Hold Your Fire really has a bad reputation, and that has to change. Aside from maybe a song or two (*cough*Tai Shan*cough*), there really is nothing bad here. Sure it's kinda drenched in synthesizers, but they add to the overall sound of the album. It's not their best by any means, but it's a lot better than people give it credit for being.
