White Trash music. I remember all the disgruntled metalheads in high school liked them; the types who would go to their friends' houses and sniff glue because their parents caught them smoking pot. And the music itself was loud, angry, and obnoxious. Appetite for Destruction is one of the worst albums I've ever heard. (As a side note, I wish I could include Van Halen on this list!)

There are one of my favorite bands but they only had one awesome album, Appetite for Destruction and they only lasted about 9 years before they broke up but now they are back together again. Like I said they only lasted 9 years on the road they were only good for about 4 of those 9 years, 1987 - 1991 after Use Your Illusion 1 and 2 came out everything crumbled. They are still a good band and all of the band members are extremely talented individuals but they had very few hit songs.

The Beatles, Nirvana, U2, Queen, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Green Day, The Who, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Rush, The Eagle, and now Guns N' Roses. They aren't overrated. Their cover of Live And Let Die is super cool, Welcome To The Jungle is just plain awesome, November Rain is one of the most intense, and one of the best, songs in history, and Paradise City is Paradise City. Just because Sweet Child O' Mine in unrealistically overrated (It it) doesn't mean the band is.

I LOVE Guns N' Roses, but they are most defiantly overrated. They had one number one hit, with a couple other songs that even remotely hit the charts, and all of the sudden everybody in the world is in love with these guys! I love the songs but some of the attention that they are getting should go to a far more deserving band, whomever that may be.

The category is "overrated", not bands that suck. In my opinion, although GnR was a decent hard rock band, they were WAY overrated. They just happened to catch on with the college-age, white, frat-boy, metal-newbie crowd who proudly displayed their new GnR CD on the shelf next to Garth Brooks, Steve Winwood and Cher so their girlfriend would see how "rockin'" they were.
