This is just sad why is this so low I mean this system was so ahead of its time and it had a screen on your memory card in which you put on your controller and this system invented online and basically started the new modern gaming cause it invented online gaming its disappointing it wasn't popular cause it was deadbya the ps2 the dreamcast was the first console in the sixth generation the Xbox copied the controller and gamecube copied its project without this system their wouldn't be any online today the ps2 would suck it would be a 64 bit system and Nintendo would keep making games on cartridges and Xbox wouldn't exist the graphics in the other hand were so ahead of their time like Tony Hawk 2 for example the dreamcast should be first cause if what it did R.I. P DREAMCAST WITHOUT YOUR GAME SYSTEMS WOULD BE TERRIBLE SO please VOTE FOR THIS I'm CRYING

The 6th generation was amazing all round but the Dreamcast had that something extra. The most perfect arcade ports from SEGA's NAOMI arcade platform ('Crazy Taxi', 'Power Stone', 'Dead or Alive 2' etc), the timeless and unique experience that is 'Shenmue', the memory unit/pocket gaming system that was the VMU, paving the way for online gaming as we know it (Xbox would pick up the trail after Dreamcast's discontinuation) and a pretty amazing library overall considering it had such a short retail lifespan. There are very few bad games on the Dreamcast and plenty of great exclusives along with superior ports of multi-platform games. It was the fabulous rockstar of games consoles that lived an incredible but short life.

The only reason this isn't higher is because most folks never had one. The dreamcast is a beast console virtual memory units crazy good graphics and could play movies without any material. Dreamcast is great xbox sucks. Just kidding bout the xbox thing. The console is so great even if sega unplugged it in 2002. Other people like nintendo or some people in japan are still making games for it. Which is outlasting all the 6th generation consoles even the ps2.

The Dreamcast was definitely a revolutionary console for it's time. It was the first 128-bit console, and of course, it was the first to have online connectivity out of the box.The fact that people are keeping this console alive to this day by making games and getting it online once again shows just how much of an impact this console had on many. It was sad to see it had such a short officially-supported life, though.

This console was way ahead of its time. It utilized broadband internet better than PS2, and nowadays I can watch movies on YouTube, so, yeah, DVD player irrelevant nowadays. The VMU was incredibly innovative, allowing players to play mini-games on the go to assist them in their actual game. It's 128-bit, is a solid piece of hardware, and has incredible games and accessories. As a console, it has everything I'm looking for.

Why is it so low? It's my second favorite console I remember playing it at game masters and when I saw the graphics I was shocked by how fantastic it was the last and final game I played on it was Shenmue I played it for about a half hour because of the graphics it was very addicting and the little VMU can store saved games and minigames while as the xbox hasn't have a memory card that can play minigames TOP THAT XBOX!

The dreamcast was a truly brilliant console. It may not seem like much today but it was using some hardware that was very far ahead of its time. The Xbox may have had better graphics but Sega had the better hardware. Everyone was so exited about the PS2, they didn't see the how the dreamcast was any better. Of all these consoles, dreamcast is number one.
