Why does everyone think that Aerith's death is so sad? I mean, understandably a lot of people were not/were expecting it but come on! I'm sick of seeing this everywhere. Noble 6 should have scored higher than Aerith, they gave their lives to ensure that Reach would not fall despite it happening anyway. Perhaps nostalgia plays a role in it, or perhaps it's because it has been widely adopted as a sad death. In my honest opinion, Aerith was overrated. She was a forced character and love interest, with little to no backstory and overall interesting features.

The thing about Aerith's death in Final Fantasy VII is that you know it's coming, so you make sure to use Aerith and interact with her as much as you can before she dies. Heart wrenching I personaly think that cloud killed aerith though if you look up game theory matpat does a great explenation about how sephiroths stabed aerith but there was no blood so therefore he missed all the main internal organs like the stomach and her spine so she was sent into a state of shock and everyone thought she was dead so cloud did the underwater burial and aerith just sank to the bottom and research shows that if someones dead they will float and eventual sink to the bottom when there lungs fill up with water and that living people just sink becouse of the tensoin in the musles and aerith just sank so sorry cloud fans but he killed the girl he loved

During y first play through I was shocked that Aerith was suddenly killed by Sephiroth. It was very emotional for me as a kid. Combined with the music mad it even sadder. Finally When I beat Crisis Core, I replayed FF7 and Aerith's death was not only sad, but it was... Happy. Aerith would finally be reunited with her hero Zack. Long live the last ancient, Aerith.
