Grand Theft Auto IV showed up one overrated list and now everyone parrots it as an overrated game, but the mindless love for San Andreas always baffled me. Everyone loves the big map but forgets how empty and pointless the environment was. Once you breathlessly explored the forest or the desert the first time you depressingly realize you're never going to come back again because there is nothing there. And that applies to all those little towns. Nothing to see. Nothing to do. About 75% of the map was simply dead space. Those same fans crap on IV, but IV has a denser and larger total city area. Also, SA has more than it's share of notoriously bad missions, and the gang war feature was so bad it required you to leave Los Santos just to avoid another repetitive and ridiculously easy to win battle. Vice City felt leaner and didn't need the silly mini-games or Hot Coffee mods. San Andreas feels bloated and overblown.

There's a serious amount of people backlashing other Grand Theft Auto games because of san andreas, especially Grand Theft Auto 5, I love san andreas but you simply cannot like any other Grand Theft Auto game more than san andreas, even your sucessors improved san andreas flaws don't matter how other Grand Theft Auto's improved due the technology, people always say how san andreas is perfect despite outdated features, no game is perfect. - IgorCarbex

This game is not a good game. Other than having the most unlikable main character in the Grand Theft Auto universe it focuses way to much on realism it forces you to work out in a game I am tired of being asked to do it in real life so why force you to do it in a game. And to top it all of they added a whole hair dresser idea to the game. Listen it didn't work in vice city it didn't work here

I disagree with the comments. It's a very good game but I do agree it's way too overrated, though Grand Theft Auto IV and Grand Theft Auto V are far more overrated than Grand Theft Auto San Andreas.

Everyone thinks this game was great because the map was so huge. I actually think that worked against the game. Grand Theft Auto IV's map is much smaller but still huge and much more workable.
