Why compare sonic 3 to super Mario bros. 3 it's not even debatable. Sonic 3 is much better. None of the 2d Mario games before super Mario world were even good. Super Mario bros 3 is not good but it is also not terrible. Sonic 3 vs world is much more debatable. I love both 3 and world but I would have to go with sonic the hedgehog 3 by a bit. It is my favorite game of all time anyways. - Heatnix23

Both games got me really into each respective franchise, or at least had a huge impact. Personally, I prefer Sonic 3 (and Knuckles), but Super Mario Bros. 3 was superb too, for its time (considering Super Mario Bros. 3 came before the whole Sonic franchise)

I go with Sonic 3 because it's the game that got me into sonic. It was one of the best days ever. This game rocks. Their are only a few problems I have with this game1. It's too easy and too short2.
