Defensive players are now using themselves essentially as missiles, driving into chests, waists, and knees. Concussions are also super common, with players using their helmets to hit each other. I say that football is very violent because People are getting tackled constantly. Pads are suppose to protect people from serious injuries, but it's the over way around. The pads add weight to every player on the field making them heavier. When tackling other player, you add force to your weight and the added weight from the pads making the hit even harder which results in a concussion or broken bones.

These posts are simply uninformed. Anyone who has actually watched game knows that most serious injuries don't occur from purposeful hits; most are accidental. It is illegal to hit at the knees or to spear with the helmet.Most of the so-called 'violence' is merely guys blocking which is pushing each other around.All this perceived 'violence' is only perception of people who are not used to seeing men being aggressive, especially black men.Lastly, all told, even with a 4 hour game, actual playing time on the field making plays, is only 15 minutes.
