Black Flag had some of the most memorable characters in any video-game I have ever played. Edward was by far one of the most interesting mains in the entire series, and the emotional attachment I felt for the surrounding cast really immersed me in the game. The world was also one of the most impressive I have ever seen, and I really felt compelled to explore every k nook and cranny of it, and achieve that 100% rating. The pirating and ship mechanics were fun and easy to learn, but difficult to master, and the sense of resource management really improved the overall feel of the game. Definitely the best Assassins Creed title, and one of the best games I have played overall. So enjoyable that after getting almost all the achievements in the Xbox 360 version, I did the same when I bought it on the Xbox one less than a year later.

I've never had the opportunity to play this specific game but with all the positive praise and pro-endorsement that this game has received from the numerous users commenting, I'd have to say that this is probably the best one out of bunch of them! This is a great game with so many things to do that you'll be easily persuaded to think that this is the best game by far and completely forget that the other Assassin's Creed games exist! If there was one game on this earth that could be mistaken for a trans-dimensional conduit to Our Almighty God, this IS the game! 10/10

This is my favourite game of all time. Before I found this, I used to play pirates of the caribbean, the one without jack. It got boring after a while, it had pretty bad combat, and no free roam after the end. I wished someone remade that game in a better form... and so they did! In this game they added all the features I was missing, and (in my opinion) by mixing the two games they created something way better than the two original games. The storyline is not repetative at all. The map is HUGE, and there's so much things to do, you can hunt for treasure, assassinate people for high (ish) reward, cause havoc in a castle, both on land and on water, upgrade your hideout, your ship... and if you run out of pre-made quests, you can still choose from thousands of things to do, like sink 5 battle ships without repairing or take out all the soldiers without getting noticed... And you just have to love Edward, he has both good and evil in his heart, he's not that "serve the right cause ... more

Assassin's creed 4 deserves the second place. I have played all of the assassin's creed games and this one is one of my favourites after Assassin's creed II. But I do think it has to be in a higher rank than Assassin's creed I, because the gameplay was better and the character was WAY better than in AC3. Moreover, this game is not repetitive at all. The missions all are different and have unique objectives proper to them; which means that it had a great story and a WONDERFUL ending. Plus, the pirate combination with assassin made my it be a bit different han the other games.

To best Assassin's Creed game, I do have to give it to AC2, but to my favorite game labeled Assassin's Creed, it would have to be Black Flag. Assassin's Creed II is a game that I loved dearly for it's gameplay and improvements over the first in the series, but Black Flag was more than an Assassin's Creed game, it is a pirate game, Assassin's Creed 4 is my favorite for it's stunning naval battles. Assassin's Creed 4 is a game where you were basically a pirate ninja(assassin), two things being debated as the better than one another for longer than the Assassin's Creed name has been a game series. This game deserves 2nd place only because Assassin's Creed II is better at being Assassin's Creed.

The scenery was beautiful and the storyline was engaging and interesting. I loved Edward because he mixed pirates and assassins, two of the most completely different groups. I enjoyed the amount of people that Edward met that were once alive during the Golden Age of Piracy (Blackbeard, Charles Vane, Calico Jack, Anne Bonny, etc. ) The naval warfare and traveling makes this game absolutely different than others. the only thing that bothered me about this game was the amount of eavesdrop missions.

I have played all the AC series (all the PC and PS3 games) and this one has many improvements for ex: people who fall in to water don't die and the ships are better, if you would ask me if there was a 2nd favorite game in my opinion it will be Assassin's Creed Revelations it touched my heart so much I have 100% Synchronization in it and all the secrets but to be honest IV has a lot more content plus going around such an open world! Its awesome I hunted all creatures in it and I removed all red zones at sea (sink ships that are on no sail they are guarding these islands) and I took over all forts and sank 2 legendary ships (The HMS Prince and the Impolouto) and also I have gotten all the keystones and got the Mayan Outfit finished the story too and went to all islands and places and dived in all the Ship Wrecks and so pretty much I nailed it.

This was the Assassin's Creed game that introduced naval gameplay. It also was the first game to show you didn't have to have assassin blood to be an assassin. The world was obviously the largest and most filled in of all the Assassin's Creed games. Edward Kenway was also one of the best characters in the series. He had the second most character development of all assassins. This is why I think Assassin's Creed 4 Black Flag is the greatest Assassin's Creed game of all time.

9. Assassin's Creed UnityEasily the worst game in the series. It was riddled with glitches, had the most bland protagonist, incredibly boring, was a rehash of AC2, it had next to no innovation. Ezio was still cool, but I was getting tired of him at this point. Had the least encouraging opening level. Tower defense was horrendous.
