I enjoyed the lack of human interaction, the stunning environments, Which had real world historical references, the easy to hard progressive puzzels and the feeling that most of the time you were alone. It was rather spooky but fun. Todays tomb raiders are full of noisy people, too much swearing, press one button to kill-save whatever, silly, over the top music in almost every fight ( Oh dear god... It's a WOLF! ) and super-monkey-action Lara. They just don't compare to this old but thourghly enjoyable classic.

Some pleople prefer tomb raider 2. Tomb raider 2 may have better graphics, and some new features like riding a ice moto, but the first tomb raider is the real "tomb raider". On tomb raider 2 you kill alots of humans and I think this is not as real as 1st one. The 1 is based on exploration of tombs like the name says, I feel 1st looks like the original adventure.
