This is far too generalized. If you aren't a Stan, you don't pay attention where attention is due. Recovery may not be the best lyrically, but in subliminal messages all throughout the album, I can't help but say it's one of the best of the year. In his newer work, he focuses more on the double meanings and hidden messaging than the rhyming. Also, yes, many Stans only listen to him, but most of them actually listen to all the classic hip hop. I love Eminem, and I am a fan. There are a couple different types of Eminem fans. There are the Stans, who think Eminem is the best rapper who has ever existed, but don't listen to other rappers. Then there are the Old School people, who only like Eminems old stuff. Then there are the Radio fans, which only like his mainstream music that is played on the radio. Then there are the Open Minded people, who listen to Eminem, but they also listen to other rappers. I am open minded. As much as I love Eninem, I realize that he is not the best and Tupac Biggie and Nas will always be better than him. It is OK to think that Eminem is the best, that is your opinion. But the Stans that really annoy me are the ones who have only heard Not Afraid and call Eminem the best rapper ever when they haven't even heard of Tupac. - ILikeChocolateMilk

They go around saying "sHadY iS tHe gOaT" when he's probably the only rapper they've ever listened to it. I do firmly believe that he's the greatest "rapper" that's ever lived in the sense of someone who is so great at the skill in terms of cadence, flow, speed etc...but there are rappers who are better storytellers (Nas, Kendrick, Saba, Tupac), talk about more serious subject matter and are even better musicians (Kanye). Oh my god why isn't this higher it should be at least in the top 3 if not number one. Eminem is good, but his fans are the beliebers of hip hop. They say that he is the only rapper who does not talk about sex drugs or money. They have clearly not heard "Ass Like That", "Drug Ballad" or... Gosh, I hate stans! Eminem is decent, but his fanbase think Eminem is a god. He is good, but NOT THE BEST! When someon says that his least favorite rapper is Eminem, they bash him by threating him like Satan, or even worse. Stans are the second worst fanbase ever (Arianators are worse).
