The Giver is so awesome. It talks about pain, seeing the world differently, memories, and is so good. A little boring at parts, but it's totally worth it overall. The sequels are amazing too.

I read this when I was in middle school for a report and was very, very pleasantly surprised. The storyline and premises are very intersting and original. Every student should read this book in class. It really makes you wonder how if the world was different you wouldn't realize it, and would instead be likely to embrace that worldview instead. Basically, makes you question authority and "truth".
