I indentify myself with this guy so much. I still think of Deryl as my favourite TWD character, but Dale is almost as good in my opinion as him. He's a pacifist, a man, who saw a lot and always was there to help his group and wasn't afraid of other people. He's against the violence, unless it't absolutely necessary, but he hates killing humans, and that's where we start to be very similar to each other. I am violent, sometimes even sadistic, but killing is my least favourite thing. I always thought that Rick should be more to reckon with his opinion. Everybody, except Shane, respected and trusted him, so did I. Rest in pieces, grandpa Dale.

A Humanist, a real humanist. As we had seen in the case of randall, that poor hostage, he was the only one against executing him. While as for Rick he had grown in a selfish beast willing to do everything for his family, even murdering some poor innocent guy. Though he was not a leader or a great fighter he was the voice of reason and of humanity.

Great character, a voice of reason. When it seemed every one had lost their ethics, Dale was there to talk fair reason and sense into every one. When 99% of the world stopped caring about one another, Dale was the 1% and you really need characters in shows like this to relate to. Luckily Hershel had similar moral principles and sort of took over after Dale went.

Best damn character in the show. He showed us that morality wasn't always the greatest thing for the group and ended up being a completely mixed guy with great characterisation. So sad to see him go so early and amc, you could never replace him with Hershel.

A true individulist who dispite the hidious circumstances wasn't willing to compromise his principles, the same principles that got woman the vote and ensure freedom for all regardless of arbitory defining characteristics sich as skin pigmantation. Dale truly epitomized the idea that's suvival devoid of morality isn't suvival at all.

The Walking Dead's biggest mistake was killing Dale so soon. Honestly he was the only one who was keeping the group together. He deserved more credit, screen time, and should of lived.
