Why is this so far down!? XC skiing is by far the hardest sport.It takes years of training all year round in order to be a "good" skier! People dedicate their lives to this sport and the athletes are the toughest and fittest people I have ever encountered.With skiing you do all the work for yourself and in harsh conditions too. Try racing as hard as you can in below freezing temperatures,freezing your lungs, and getting frost bit.Mastering the techniques is probably the hardest aspect and is the biggest difference between a fast skier and a slow or average skier.Skiing is hard. It's the hardest sport I've ever done, and for those who put 90% of those other sports above it you need to get out and try nordic skiing, because that enough will change your mind.Go and watch a race and then try it yourself and then sit there wondering how the heck those people could do that because it's that hard.
