I'll be honest here: This is my favorite Lord of the Rings movie yet. The plot was the most captivating of the five, as well as it having the most memorable soundtrack to me (and I have a hard time paying attention to movie soundtracks) as well as some of the most developed characters. It came out in the quite end of the year, but the best movie of 2013. liked it even more than the previous one, even though I couldn't imagine that'd be possible. One of the best of 2013 for sure. It worked both as a prequel a standalone film, and in a rare move can build tension despite knowing the fates of the characters in future instalments.
