Why is Shadow so special? He has no true powers and is rendered useless without a chaos emerald. Everybody loves him for what exactly? His personality?Well I disagree with that because Shadow is one of the most one-dimensional characters in the entire franchise.

Your statement that hes powerless without a chaos emerald is invalid. His speed is capable of rivaling Sonics, and he can also perform a homing attack on enemies and much of the same stuff Sonic can do.
