Let me just say something. RAMIN KARIMLOO IS THE BEST PHANTOM EVER. His acting, so full of emotion, he IS the Phantom, the way he just. . .I really have no words for how great Ramin is as Phantom! His singing is INCREDIBLE! So full and emotional. I literally listen to him singing EVERYDAY. His voice just lifts my spirits in a way no one can. I also love Ramin just like himself. He's sweet, funny, handsome. I just love him. Also, I really don't know how people think Gerald Butler is better than Ramin. Sure, Gerald is handsome and everything, but when he played Phantom, his character was very flat. Barely any emotion. And his singing wasn't too great either. Phantom is all about vibrato. Gerald had almost none. Ramin had JUST THE RIGHT AMOUNT. Hopefully I've persuaded you to love Ramin as much as I do.

I've only been able to watch Ramin Karimloo on DVD and you tube, but I have to agree that he is the best Phantom out there, toppling even Michael Crawford. Crawford gives a classical, stylized performance, while Ramin definitely delivers the emotion, which coupled with an amazing voice, really makes you believe he IS the Phantom. Perhaps too, I am speculating that Ramin's success is partly due to the fact that he is the only performer compared to the others who has aspired to be the Phantom since childhood. I read that he skipped school and saw the Phantom at age 12, and life changed ever since. Gerard Butler delivers a brave, anguished performance, however his voice simply pales in comparison to Ramin.

He adds an intensity to the role that I've never seen before. He doesn't just act the part, he is the part. His voice is unique and engaging. His acting is brilliant and captivating. He emotionally engaged me in the performance like I've never been. His choice of movement and expressions just added so much to the character, I was completely intrigued. His dark side was thrilling and in such contrast to his tortured broken soul at points where he realizes he has lost Christine. The notes he sings, the way he sings them and the agony expressed in the acting. I almost can't bear to watch he makes you feel it with him.

Ramin is, and undoubtably will always be, THE phantom. He portrays the character extremely well with unpalatable emotion. Karimloo's voice never fails to leave me speechless. Ramin was the first phantom I ever saw/heard, and I must say, I have never seen a better phantom (but Crawford is a close second;)! ). He is most definitely the complete package, and read the character of the phantom perfectly. He sings and acts with a fiery longing and passion, with a fatherly warmth, yet a lonely coldness. He can sing with raw power and authority, but sound soft, gentle, and angelic at the same time. BEST PHANTOM EVER!

Ramin was the second Phantom that I listened to (right behind Crawford) and I still can't get his haunting voice out of my head! I love Crawford's version - I mean, he WAS the original - but I have Ramin on my Spotify. His voice is beautiful, and although at points he overacts (for example, the NOOOs), that fits with my personal interpretation of the Phantom. This is a man who has practically exiled himself from society (I don't know many people who would freak out if they saw his face even with the deformed part... I mean...) and has no understanding of how normal people handle themselves. It kind of makes sense that he would overreact. No one usually makes mannequins of the people they love and not many people resort to killing others when they're jealous.

Ramin is totally the best! Well, maybe that's because I haven't seen Michael Crawford yet. Anyways, Ramin has that seductive touch, even with a hideous face, something that the Phantom SHOULD have. His voice is incredible as well, angelic, and a little demon-like scary when offended, like Phantom. His acting is also off the charts! He can shift from abusive to soft, from angelic to mean. He is totally BADASS. Plus, his voice fits the role perfectly, something that has a hypnotic quality that can actually bend the listener to his will- another noticeable characteristic of the Phantom. He is without a doubt the best so far. Scratch everything I've said- Ramin is Phantom. :))

I've often seen people defending Gerard Butler by saying he only had a few (4, I believe) voice lessons before he took the role, and that Ramin's voice is "too nice" to be the voice of someone growing up in an opera house, but the phantom is SUPPOSED to have an angelic voice, like Ramin's. Also, Ramin (and, if I'm not mistaken, John Owen-Jones) has never had any voice lessons. He saw the Phantom as a child, and decided that's what he wanted to be. He trained himself, and that's literally exactly like the actual Erik. People also use the argument that Gerard is hotter, which I'll never get, but have you seen Ramin without his mask?!? He is GORGEOUS. Also, I've seen the argument that Gerard is the better actor, but, especially at the end, Gerik seems, well, kind of bored, whereas Ramin sounds like he has absolutely lost it, at the "ANGEL IN HELL", and "GO NOW AND LEAVE ME". I have never seen Ramin live but I still believe that he is by far the greatest Phantom. The only times I've seen him as the Phantom was on Netflix and YouTube! Every single time he sings I get the chills. His singing is spectacular and perfect for the role. He gets into character so well, building so much chemistry with his costars, and just giving me goosebumps. His acting is also superb and he can become the phantom so well whether it be soft or harsh. I don't think any other Phantom will bring me to tears and with that I give Ramin my vote.
