Well my current grade 6th grade is pretty hard about 8.5/10 on a hardness scale. In 5th grade, they said the stuff that we learned was important for the next year as if 6th grade was a review of 5th (It's not!).Teachers are a very mixed bag in this grade. Sometimes you will get a good bunch and sometimes a bad bunch, however, I think there will never be all ones you don't or do like. With the work, currently, I did some math to figure out that on average, we get 7.2 assignments a day in the later year. Earlier on in the year we get 5-6. As the year progresses, the assignments get harder. Language arts is a hard subject in 6th grade, and so is writing, because that is where the school puts most of the work for some reason. You have to be like a speed runner to finish all the work at school, which requires a lot of practice, but it is a good investment of time. That is my honest opinion on my current year, 6th grade.

I just has my frist day of 6th grade, and it was fine. U have to walk around everyday, and if you are late even one second you get marked. If you get four marks in one term you get sent to another person! My teachers are all nice, but it gets hard, in Chinese we have a small test every week of school! 6th grade is cool with lockers and all of that, but the teachers expect a lot more from you than they did in the 5th grade! You get used to it, but it can be hard getting used to, have a nice time in 6th grade folks and be positive about school and it will go well!

Ugh 6th grade should at least be number 1 or 2. I got essays almost everyday for science and My friends don't like me anymore. They hang out with mean girls and sometimes they bully other kids. The meanest teacher would be the art teacher because she claims that she doesn't punish the whole class but she does! My class is so bad that she wants to give everyone a 55 (an F) even me! She even complained to the principle and she took field day from us! I hate 6th grade so much I'll be so happy when it's over in 1 month

6th grade was hard because my school only gives scholarships to people who got all A+'s each semester in 3rd-5th grades. I am very smart for my age so I got accepted in, over the summer we had to read 200 books with 300 or more pages and if you did not read those books you would have to spend 8 hours after school cleaning the school from top to bottom. Luckily, I am quick reader, so I finished reading the books 2 weeks before school started. There is also an elementary school but it is not for the advanced kids, then if you get A+'s in all subjects in grades 3-5 you get to move on the middle school and high school. I went to Crockett Elementary School before middle school so I was not prepared for a 40,000 dollar a year school. Apparently the school that I went to in 6th grade checked every single kid in the county's grades when they were in 3rd grade just to see if they were in the running, then they would check the kids who got all A+'s in 3rd grade for each semester would check the ... more

Going from Elementary to Middle School is a big shift. In 5th grade, I had lots of friends and was quite popular. In 6th, I had a couple friends and was probably the least popular kid. I think the reason I wasn't popular or anything was because I hadn't "grown up." I wasn't using "language", I didn't have a phone, I hadn't had my period. 6th grade was the year where you only had a lot of friends if you have a good Instagram feed. A few months ago I have finished grade 6 and yed it is a huge difference from 5th grade! 5th grade os mostly about projects and languages and stuff. On the other hand, grade 6 has many projects and tests, it has very difficult math, and very strict teachers. And in sixth grade there is a lot of pressure and rules. But if you do your work and follow the rules you will be fine. I am going to the 7th grade tomorrow and I am quite nervous, but it is what it is and it is a very important part of everybodies life.

As a 6th grader, I can speak that 6th grade is a breeze for me. No homework, no overly hard work, and nice teachers. My only worry was bullies and drama as in this grade children start to mature from children to adults, so hormones and such change and emotions change. That was my only complaint, though. Go Oaklawn!

The teachers start treating you like adults, which is good, but also terribly bad. They have HIGH expectations of you and if you don't meet their standards, instant grade drop. It sucks because we have to transition from elementary to middle school (for my school at least) and they don't understand how much of a struggle that is because elementary was so chill and fun, but middle school is literally a waste of energy and time.
