Last year during one of my courses in College, our teacher asked us to write him a letter and tell him a few things about ourselves. The following week, he singled out something unique to each student (mine was that I like listening to Heavy Metal). He then had us play a little game where we would have to find which student had which characteristic. After the activity was done, he read all of the characteristics and we had to raise our hand when it was ours. If people actually took the time to find songs and artists that they truly liked instead of following the bandwagon and liking what the media shoves in our faces, the world would be so much better. There are many good songs that have been made this decade, but people overlook them because the media shows the worst songs of all time.

I am 14 and every time anything popular song from this decade comes on, I always here "That's my jam! " I hate Katy Perry, Tailer Swift, Justin Beiber, the list goes on. There are all these post-rock albums from the remaining good bands that no one pays attention to that are really good. Why don't parents raise their kids with good music.

Y E S. I'm a Broadway and Vocaloid fan, and I personally don't find pop very appealing, especially Kpop. Doesn't help that my friends and others constantly shove it in my face. There's just an utter lack of creativity. You can tell there's no emotion or soul put into these songs. They're solely made for money. I like Broadway for its ability to tell stories, and Vocaloid for being unique.

Silence (I count that), The Sounds, Disturbed, Carlos Santana, Barry White, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy etc are way better than most music today anyways. Sounds so generic and same over and over. However! There exist some good newer stuff out there, just not that easy to find.

I listen to Metallica, Slipknot, BVB, ACDC, Black Sabbath and the likes of it and they keep on calling me an old school weirdo. Funny how they call me that when all I hear everywhere is just a bunch of crappy pop-style revivals, mainstream rap and KPOP and meanwhile I at least still try my best to tolerate them for it.
