Dunkirk is either the best film that Christopher Nolan has ever made or it's a very, VERY close second to The Dark Knight. For years, people have criticized Nolan's movies for being too talky and having very confusing plots. With very little dialogue, Dunkirk creates some of the most intense scenes of war that I've ever seen in a film. Everything about this movie is fantastic. The direction puts you right in the middle of the chaos. The actors all grip you with their performances (including an unexpectedly great performance from One Direction's Harry Styles), and the score and effects keep your heart-pounding throughout the entire running-time. In my opinion, this is a Top 10 War film ever. It's up there with Apocalypse Now, Saving Private Ryan, Platoon, Full Metal Jacket, Paths of Glory, and The Hurt Locker. By the end of the year, I hope this gets into the Top 5 of this list, because Nolan delivered with just a fantastic movie through and through. - phillysports

I enjoyed this film so much that I wanna rewatch it. To be honest, Batman Begins and Dunkirk are the only Christopher Nolan movies I have watched, Batman was just ok in my opinion since I'm not into superheroes but Dunkirk...ah, it was so amazing! I find WW2 movies and whilst I have watched a few good WW2 movies, Dunkirk just makes me want to watch it again.I love the cast, particularly Harry Styles, Fionn Whitehead, Cillian Murphy and Jack Lowden since they are so handsome! All the actors did a good job in acting, esp Cillian who portrayed the horrors of war. Dunkirk portrays the horrors of war without being gruesome and had a good soundtrack by the renowned Hans Zimmer.Thank you Nolan for this beautiful movie, if you make another WW2 film set in Western Europe, I'll love to watch it. Christopher Nolan, Hans Zimmer and the cast of this amazing movie need to win an Oscar.Honestly, why isn't Dunkirk in a higher position on this list? It deserves more respect.

The only film this I saw this year where I truly felt that I wasn't just looking at a screen; every time a german bomb made contact with the British(boats, shore, planes, etc.), I didn't feel boo-hoo for the soldiers; I felt a part of me drown in the unforgiving channel below, along with all the others. I felt what it was like to know death awaited sooner than I'd prefer.

So this is Christopher Nolan's new movie about the rescue of thousands of soldiers escaping the battlefield, pilots flying high above, and sea vessels facing treacherous obstacles on the waters. It was filmed with IMAX 65 mm and Panavision 65 mm cameras altogether to immerse viewers to see what it's like to survive a war. Christopher Nolan may have had an excellent career in filmmaking right after he no longer works with DC Comics. It was great to see him work with Christian Bale as the Batman in The Dark Knight trilogy from 2005 up to 2012. Heath Ledger was gone right before 2008's The Dark Knight became an instant classic. Mr. Nolan produced Man of Steel in 2013 with Zack Snyder. While not working with DC Comics, Nolan work on a couple other projects while working with Warner Brothers Pictures. He worked with Leonardo Dicaprio in Inception and worked with Matthew Mcconaughey in Inception from Warner Bros./Paramount. I feel this movie is so underrated. Just because Nolan made it in a different style, that doesn't mean its not good. Nolan's best film in my opinion.
