The Cajun Navy (great flood of 2016) is an excellent example of the friendliness and helpful nature of the people of Louisiana! The people who had trucks and boats seemed out those that needing rescuing or help - way before any governmental help would even try. They also headed to Texas during the hurricane flooding of 2017. I grew up in the outskirts of Baton Rouge. The people here have hospitality, friendliest, and give you the shirt off their back when needed.

Southern residents of Louisiana (everywhere south of Alexandria) are the nicest and funnest people you will ever meet. Residents in northern Louisiana are a whole different breed and rude as crap. This is coming from a 25 year northern Louisiana resident who left the state because of the NWLA people.
