I don't get this item to be honest. Most of their songs, or all their songs ARE death metal. I wonder what other genre did they play...For me Death never fully became technical and progressive death metal - in the 90s Chuck just removed a lot of hardcore punk and as a result death metal became more "metal" than in the 80s - the 1st wave of the 80s was with too much punk to get brutality. Chuck added more technical elements just because metal is more technical than punk. However, Death was the band that influenced the most all those newer technical death metal bands, bands that took technicalities to a whole another level. - Metal_Treasure
