Living in the southwestern corner of the state, it's a wasteland. Any nice pictures you see are from a couple places and they are not the west side of the state. Water is horrible. I used to live in Texas which has a great education system and it also gives the us a lot of food and cattle. After the 1920s Oklahoma has not done anything meaningful. After the "Black Gold" happened it was one of the top states in the unites states, but now it has not done anything that Texas or some other state can't do. On top of all of that, Oklahoma has a terrible education system to go along with it.

I'm Asian American and had to live here for two years because of a job. OKC to be exact. I came here with a positive outlook believing in the saying that Okies are friendly. Luckily, it's a bit more diverse in OKC because it's their "major city". I encountered some good folks, but the majority were ignorant, racist, and stupid. These racist folks wouldn't flat out use any racial slurs, but their behavior/attitude toward me explained it all.

I came to this state for a little road trip... glad to say I will never be back here again. There is absolutely nothing to see here. However, if food is your priority, then it may be worth your time. Please throw caution to the wind, and specifically decide what you wish to do here, and where to go... Oklahoma isn't so nice to "visitors".
