Boston has an amazing history of sports that is entirely ingrained in the culture. In no other city will you see about such a widespread support of a team in the off season. You can hear a Yankees Suck chant break out in the middle of a Celtics game. For proof, just look at the costuming of The Departed. If anything, the amount of Red Sox hats in a given room is an underestimate.

Boston has true fans as do Chicago too. Whenever the Celtics play the Bulls it is an intense rivalry however it is respected. Saying they are true fans brings me to mention New York. Too many band-wagon fans that know nothing about the Yankees but still represent the team by wearing their hat.
