Technically speaking in terms of power no one can deny that the British empire dominates. It showed its might in the boar war, Napoleonic wars (both Naval and infantry), second Boar war, WW2, and the first world war. All of these wars were fought by the British empire and none destroyed it. The first world war is possibly the biggest example of their strength. They defeated the ottoman empire, dismembered the Austro- Hungarians and beat the other opposing force that was Germany's empire. They undoubtedly had the best navy which was shown in the blockade against Germany in the first world war and also survived the onslaught of the Nazis.
