Anti-Virus softwares are a big must if you want to keep secure on the internet but don't use trial or free versions of these software. They usually annoy you with pop ups and have no way of closing it completely so I would suggest using antimalwares rather than antiviruses. They work better against newer types of viruses and can track a lot of them. Malwarebytes is my way to go if you're going to buy any antivirus software.

Definitely one of the most important things to do. Also not downloading stuff if you don't know how. Get someone to get a good antivirus for you, if you are completely clueless. I have Microsoft security essentials and Avira.
