Katy Perry does have great songs, admittedly. But only in the studio, where her voice is obscured by autotune and effects. If you listen to her sing live, she just can't sing. Period. Her voice may be ok during intimate stripped down performances, but when she tries to "belt" into the mic, she is always off key and pretty much always screaming. Katy Perry has no vocal control, and therefore should definitely be HIGHER on this list.

Even though I am a fan of Katy and she is my favourite singer, I admit she doesn't have the best voice in the world. However I love her attitude, outgoingness and work for the community along with the fact she writes her own songs. Her outfits are brilliant, I mean I would wear them myself if I had the chance and for her live shows she is so bouncy and fun. I really liked her candy dress.

She's the worst vocalist on the radio today. Unlike other pop starts like Kesha and Miley (who are also terrible) she actually goes for big notes and powerhouse vocals she can't hit. She sounds like her tongue is swollen and her mouth's full of food when she sings, and she DOES NOT write her own crappy music. Even if she did, that doesn't make it good.

Singing live, you can tell she is not even partially talented...straining and cracking her voice to attempt the notes..no breath control or even rhythm..embarrassing and awkward to say the very least. Her videos are what sell her music to the masses, and her recorded voice is WAAY over-produced. Way over produced because she can't deliver the goods. Pathetic.

From what I hear in her performances, she doesn't care about how she sounds and really seems more like she wants to dance and get hyped in her performances. I love some of her songs, but she's not the best singer in the world.
