The band itself is great. Other than their plagiarisms, I have no problems with them. But it's their arrogant, annoying hardcore fans that make them one of the most overrated bands of all time. They go around everywhere saying that Zeppelin is the greatest band of all-time, with the greatest guitarist, singer, bassist, and drummer of all-time. Whenever somebody says - for example the Beatles - is the greatest band of all-time, somebody has to comment saying like "No Way, Zeppelin is the greatest band ever! They make tuneless melodies, are commercial maniacs, and almost a one-hit wonder (Stairway To Heaven is one of the greatest songs ever though and is a personal favorite), really aren't that special as people describe them, and are just completely terrible (except the Stairway part)... Yet people say of them as one of the greatest band of all time... And they aren't. Metallica isn't that overrated to be at no 2, and other than that, Metallica does have much variety and sound complexity, unlike Led Zeppelin! Plus, Nirvana isn't overrated! Wow, almost everything you said in that paragraph was completely false. First of all, how are Nirvana underrated? They're certainly not overrated either but they can't be underrated if everyone considers them the greatest grunge band of all time. You're right about Metallica, but Led Zeppelin? They're are simply one of the greatest (if not, the greatest) because of their talent. Yes, the ripped off a few songs, but no other band has nearly as much instrumental talent as them. They are one of the biggest bands of the 70s. It's not that the band itself is overrated but the song "Stairway to Heaven" is actually the one overrated since whenever someone hears of Led Zeppelin they associate it with "Stairway to Heaven" and it's overplayed on radio statipms. They have many other great songs that are acclaimed such as Kashmir, Whole Lotta Love, Dazed Confused, Black Dog, Rock and Roll, In My Time of Dying, etc. The posers who say they are "fans" or listen to Led Zeppelin probably just listened to Stairway to Heaven. By the way, I'm not a fanboy that's trying to defend the band or anything.
