No longer is Coldplay held to the standards of their finest LPs. No, they have fallen into the abyss of pop music composition, with repeating chord construction, shallow lyrics, and the all around disgusting need to fill their music in with electronic sounds and computer generated samples. Viva La Vida slipped by without need for excuse (it happens to the best of bands) but we continued to support Coldplay on the basis of what they once wrote rather than what they are writing. Now they construct minimalist garbage with more concern on their appearance, their popularity and expanding a fan base. Mylo Xyloto was the ultimate turn off for me, had it been constructed as an acoustic album (maybe even live like Nirvana's MTV Album) it could have shattered every sales record and every top ten list out there. Just picture the album as an acoustic set! But no, now they are forever permitted to sit in the spotlight because of their past work and not criticized for the boring and non stimulating ... more - RilesLee

I honestly liked Ghost Stories, especially "Midnight", but it's alright that you don't appeal to the sound of this album. What Coldplay does is have each album have a different atmosphere, and that really showed in this one. If you don't appreciate their new work, it's totally acceptable. But to complain about it isn't going to solve your problem. Best to leave it alone and not to be bothered by it. That'll help you there - DarkInk

They aren't half as bad as The Jonas Brothers, but damn are they overrated! If you like them, more power to you. This is not a personal attack on the fans or the band members. But I personally don't see the appeal and why they're famous. They are nothing unique and quite bland to me. Their songs just make me feel... Meh. Not happy, not sad, just meh. There are many unheard of musicians that deserve the fame if you ask me and ones that are only known in my country that deserve the world fame. But yeah, maybe there is some point I'm missing. - felispasta

All they did was ripoff "The Bends" for each album and then had a good album in "Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends" with solid tracks like "Yes", "42" and "Strawberry Swing", but have since then produced unoriginal, bland music like the song they did with the Chainsmokers. Also, The Jonas Brothers and One Direction are not overrated because everybody (outside of teenaged girls) hates them.
