I was torn between this and Pixar, but what convinced me to choose this one is that Pixar did have a few films I didn't like that much (Cars, mediocre, Brave, boring, Cars 2, terrible, Finding Nemo, not bad but way overrated), where Studio Ghibli on the other hand every film I've seen from them I loved. Their films range from relaxing and fun, deep and meaningful, creative and charming, and even dark and sad. My favorite film by them is probably Spirited away (which is overall my 3rd favorite animated film, under The Lion King and Wall-e, but both of them had more flaws than Spirited away). The only film I've seen by them that I didn't give a 10/10 to (in my head) was Ponyo, and I only did so because it was a tad weaker than their other films, but it is still very good, good enough for a 9/10. I was only introduced to their work in 5th grade but man this studio is amazing. I can even compare their quality to that of Disney but at the same time I cannot. Ghibli does their own thing and their aura is a unique one that while it can compete with Disney's aura and quality it is still much irreplaceable. Not only that but the animation to all of their works I've seen is gorgeous, probably the best that I've ever seen (sorry Disney and Pixar) and easily the most defining trait of their films, but their movies also have relatable characters and well-written plots. Yeah apparently people consider it the Disney Studios of Japan but I honestly don't care because both animation companies are absolutely wonderful.Also why the heck is DreamWorks ahead of these guys? Yeah DreamWorks has some good films but oi their history is a gruesome and complicated one indeed. - Anonymousxcxc

The most amazing part is that Studio Ghibli continues to use traditional animation, and every frame is hand drawn- that takes skill, talent, and determination.

Spirited Away is my all-time favorite. The world, characters, and artwork work together so perfectly and create a well constructed story that I could watch over and over again. And that goes for many other movies from Studio Ghibli. Studio Ghibli has unique storylines, strong characters, and breathtaking atmosphere that is undeniably better than any computer-animated stuff out there. There aren't as many Ghibli films compared to other companies because they take time to perfect each film. My entire top 5 movies list consists of only Ghibli productions.
