One word to describe this atrocity: Anticlimactic! The Mean 6 made of tree branches seems like a bizarre way to transform them into Chrysalis' minions, every other character felt like an idiot no matter how mislead they were by their cruel doppelgangers they never knew of that Chrysalis secretly created, Starlight was treated more unfairly than the others, and even with this episode's silver lining being Chrysalis not getting a stupid, forced, and unnecessary redemption, the less I say about the uncharming, ungodly, disgusting, and utterly disturbing scene of the Mean 6 melting to their demise, the better. - TylertheTitan

Are the Mane 6 THAT stupid enough to not notice the OOC moments and the awkward appearances of their "friends"? (Aka the tattered mane, the dull colors, the wrong cutie marks.) Chrysalis' "revenge plan" hardly made any sense, and the episode promo made it look so AWESOME and DRAMATIC and ACTION-FILLED. But NOPE! Just another slice of life episode with the Mane 6 just camping. CAMPING! None of them even SUSPECT anything unusual. Besides, WHY did they have to wait until the MIDDLE of the 8th season for Chrysalis to do her revenge plan anyways? Do they not know how much time is WASTED for a good BATTLE EPISODE? GOD!

This one at number 7... I don't know. True, it was no masterpiece by any standard, but for someone like me who's an older generation watching MLP with his kids, I got reminded of the good old cartoons from the 80s and 90s. Almost every villain plot back then was like this, and it almost played out exactly the same! So, yeah, not a very good episode by today's and MLP's standards, but not really deserving of the number 7 spot, if you ask me.

While I was entertained by this episode, it felt a bit pointless. Evil Twilight was an excellent villain, and it was a shame that she, and the rest of the mean 6, were killed off so soon. Moreover, it really made Chrysalis look really incompetent.
