Honestly, this is the first Pokemon film to actually deal with real life issues that people struggle with in the real world. Both the first two movies were good, but this is why The Spell of the Unown is the best. Molly the antagonist doesn't really want to be the antagonist, all she wants is to have her broken family back. The film deals with feelings such as loss and regret, something that Mewtwo and 2000 lacked. Both Ash and Molly's journeys through the film manage to highlight this, with Ash wanting to save his mother (who has a much better and relevant role in this movie) and Molly just wanting to have a family back. In the end, Molly does see her father again, and Ash reunites with his mother, but the feelings that surface through The Spell of Unown still matter today, and the movie still brings out the same emotions in me that it did when I was 3. Ultimately, this is truly a masterpiece.

I just watched this today and at first I thought it was going to be terrible. But, if you actually sit down and watch it, you will experience all sorts of emotions! You will laugh, you will cry, and you'll be applauding at the end! Clearly the best Johto movie ever!

The deepest of the pokemon movies. The main antagonist being an orphaned little girl who in her heartache causes chaos all around her as she tries to run away from her reality and create her own fantasy world. Rather than being a typical 'goodie vs baddie' movie that most pokemon movies end up being, you can really empathise with the character which makes the story far more engaging. On top of this the animations are top notch and the soundtrack amazing. A great movie all around.

The simple fact that unknown took a girl's father and then made a copy of how this little girl imagined her father. And made an entei is amazing. It shows u the true power of unknown and how unkown is STILL a weird and ancient pokemon. Plus charizard coming in at the end and saving ashes life AGAIN after we haven't seen him in awhile is just tear jerking. I also have to put heroes up there with it. Having a beautiful story behind it and verry loveable characters

This almost made me cry :( very emotional and this poor girl has been broken in this movie all she really wanted was just to have a mother and father and live happily with them and it such a deep tone in the movie plus one of my favorite legendarys
