我是從波蘭人的角度來寫這本書的。這是我們在學校里必須讀的書之一，每一位文學老師似乎都很喜歡這本書，而那些不把它視為杰作的少數人卻遭到了抨擊。不過，這本書有點諷刺，因為這本書基本上是在對批評戈姆布朗維奇早期作品的人說“給你”這是最受評論家和老師們稱贊的一個。—薩阿爾斯代伊

I'm writing it from a Polish point of view. It's one of the books we have to read at school and every literature teacher seems to love it and the minority who doesn't see it as a masterpiece is getting bashed. It's a bit ironic though, because the book that was basically saying 'f you' to people who criticized Gombrowicz's earlier work and yet it's the one most praised by critics and teachers. - saaarsdej
