Colorado in general is a mixed bag. Denver is very diverse and you will not find much racism. Other areas such as Boulder, Fort Collins, Durango, and other College towns are the same.However, Colorado Springs and the Eastern plains are very racist and be carefull of those living in the middle of nowhere in the west they are often Cliven Bundy types that hate everyone and will shoot before they ask any questions. The segregation around the Denver suburbs and the mountain resort towns comes from economic class and less from race and this can be pretty bad.

How is this 4th? My husband are looking to move out of here because he's sick of racists. We live in Denver metro area. He stopped working Lyft and Uber because everyone needs to know WHY he is here and he's sick of the arrogance. He's left one job already for racism and currently has a new boss that tried to normalize the "n" word because he's foreign, but I'm not. Ya'll are confused saying this place isn't racist.

Denver is pretty tolerant. However, Rural Southern Colorado such as Fremont County is among the most racist places I have ever been. Canon City was a major center for the KKK for many years and still has a KKK presence underground in town. If you are not 100% white your entire identity will be whatever racial minority you happen to be. Also a monumentally homophobic area. Generally backward, bible thumping, ignorant area.

We can't really say "Colorado". We need to say "Northern Colorado" and then "Colorado"."Northern Colorado" is as racist as it gets against Mexicans and Blacks. Asians are mostly okay. Others are half/half.The rest of Colorado is much more diverse and tolerant, from my experience. It feels like a completely different state.Basically: if it's got a lot of farmland, you'll not be welcomed. - mrstackz

Colorado springs may not be that good but don't let that speak for the rest of the state, a lot of colordans are friends with people of other races, often will judge more on a individual basis than a racial one and are often blown away when they first see a segregated city, in my experience a good number of rural towns in the mountains are actually pretty libral, georgetown is not one of them; even before it was legal, coloradans just seem t be chill potheads

I lived in Colorado Springs for 4 years and loved it. It's not really racist but they are kind of ignorant to racism such as racist comments. They don't realize what they say is racist sometimes so that can be a problem but they don't mean it out of hate. Overall I-25 cities aren't racist but off of I-25 I've experienced some racism.

Lived here my whole life... I'm Hispanic and I've never been racially profiled. Denver and the metro area aren't racist but the further out you go in any direction the weirder they look at you. Co Springs and Ft Collins are not very welcoming. They aren't openly racist but they do stare and its uncomfortable.

I love Colorado. I moved from Sweden to Fort Collins. a lot of kids at the school was so friendly and open minded. I was able to make friends pretty quickly. I also met my new best friend who is both gay and black.
