This state is very racist. I was born in Sterling Heights Michigan and I'm from a Syrian decent. I worked for U of M hospital in Ann Arbor and I just cannot believe how these people get away with it. The union is the worst out of any of them in the state. The East side of Michigan is filled with entitled individuals. They're also hypocritical. They claim diversity like no other but behind closed doors, you really don't want to know

I am black, and live in Michigan. I have never experienced racism here. Do I stay away from Howell, Sterling heights, and Livingston County? Yes, but I've traveled to many other cities in Mi and never had an issue. I have African-American, Mexican, and Indian friends. The culture here is very diverse and people are very tolerant of both race and religion.

Besides the occasional racist cop, most of Michigan is extremly accepting of every race. I cannot confirm this in the Northern Peninsula, but at least for the Metro Detroit area and west side everyone gets along perfectly. I am glad to live here

I love Michigan! It seems like a calm cool place where it's fun, no tourist attractions. But it's great that they aren't racist there. Everyone is mixed: Catholics, Whites (Me), Blacks, and Jews (Me). That's great!

I lived in Michigan and found it to be a very racist state. I will not go there to visit after my experiences there. I recall the KKK holding a rally on the steps of the Capitol Building in downtown Lansing.
