Connecticut is not even racist at the slightest, and putting the state behind Florida is utter ridiculous. Seriously, I see dark-skinned populations everywhere!

I am an Indian guy who is married to a Hispanic woman and we have three children who were born in and grew up in Connecticut. While none of us have faced and blatant racism, I must confess that there is a culture in place which subtly discriminates against non-white ethnicities with regard to employment, etc. We treat everyone with respect and have (mostly) been treated with respect by others.That being said, I/we did not experience any issues with schools or law enforcement,...P.S. I am actually surprised to see CT perform so poorly on this list since CT and the rest of New England are fairly diverse.

As an Indian female who was born and raised in Connecticut, I can confidently say that this is not a racist state. All throughout my childhood, my school was a diverse center where all ethnicities felt they could mix without any judgements. Black, white, Hispanic, Asian, everything. While Connecticut may seem racist from afar due to its high white population, it truly is not. It is safe for everyone, regardless of ethnicity.

I'm a minority who lives in Eastern NY, along the Connecticut border. I have never experienced racism of any kind in CT. The part of NY that I live in is, on the whole, unfriendly towards other races and when I cross the border I find the people there to be kind and considerate. How did this state fall so far in this poll? I find this state to be less racist by a wide margin than NY and I'm from here originally
