I loved the Panasonic 3DO, I got one in 1996 at the end of it's life-span bundled with "Road Rash" I still own it today and love it. for it's time it could've blown it's competitors out of the water, being a much better produced 32-bit interactive CD based system then the clunky slow "CD-I" and wasted potentials of the "Amiga CD-32" and even "Sega CD", but thanks to it's insane $700 price tag, poor marketing decisions, no quality control and it's "interactive movies are the future" gimmick, it flopped and did even worse when the PSone was on the horizon. but like every system that flopped it has his share of gems: "Wolfenstien 3D", "Out of this World", "Flashback", "Gex", "Road Rash", "The Horde", "Killing Time", "Star Control II", "Space Hulk" and "Lucienne's Quest".

During the era of 16 bit console war I remember 3DO graphics just being mind blowing, also it was more of multimedia device you can load pictures n also watch movies or shows! Sure this seems eh now but remember this was way before dvds were ever thought or digital pictures on cd... This system was genius but due to the price tag being outrageous people just simply could not go that route when you got sonic and mario for way affordable...

It didn't fail because it was underrated. It failed because it was 700 dollars! People went instead with the NEC Turbografx-16, Sega Genesis, and Super Nintendo Entertainment System because the price was a fraction of that of the 3DO! Plus, why are the controllers daisy-chained? None of the other game consoles had to put up with that! At least the Turbografx-16 had a multi-tap!
