Iron Man is a great start to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Jon Favreau really nailed the directing and overall tone of the movie. Robert Downey Jr. really carries the film with his fantastic performance, he is just mesmerizing to look at as Tony Stark! The CGI was pretty good, very good for 2008 standards. What really helped the CGI was the use of practical effects, like the suit, which felt very real in most scenes. The soundtrack by Ramon Djawadi was excellent and the theme for Iron Man was just great to listen to! The humor was well timed and funny. The only problem that this film has was the villain. Iron Monger is a mediocre villain despite Jeff Bridges giving a fantastic performance. He started off interesting, as you would understand his motives and what he stood for, but he does suffer from the Marvel formula, especially towards the end.
